U.S. Compliant Switchboards | USA

Does your distribution panel/switchboard exported to the United States comply with safety standards?

Knowledge and expertise are indispensable to meet NEC and NFPA79 requirements

In the past, electric and industrial equipment could be exported to the United States if the parts used on the equipment met UL standards. However, the National Electrical Code (NEC) and US electrical standards NFPA79, require SCCR (Short-Circuit Current Rating) and limiting current value, that withstands short-circuit current, indicated on the equipment. This is not easy as adequate knowledge and expertise is required to understand how to design a product and what and where the ratings should be indicated on the product for it to be certified by US standards.
Some equipment manufacturers that design distribution boards and switchboards for semiconductor manufacturing factories may be at a loss on how to deal with this issue when receiving requests from customers.

With many years of experience, IDEC can provide you with knowledge and expertise on safety standards
If you are an equipment manufacturer and have issues concerning the new US standards or need support when exporting distribution panels and switchboards to the United States, contact IDEC.
IDEC not only manufactures and sells devices for control boards that comply with UL standards, but can also provide advice and support related to electrical equipment designs and knowledge based on our experience with NEC and the NFPA79. IDEC can support you with calculating SCCR, building circuits to achieve higher SCCR rating, and labeling requirements. If required, we can build and deliver distribution panels and switchboards for you. Please contact IDEC if you have any questions.
