Safety switch with reduced contacts improves the price competitiveness of machine tools

Reduce costs of parts that comply with standards regulations
A mass production system implemented at a smartphone production factory has hundreds or even thousands of the same machine tools installed to be able to ship large amount of products in a short period right before a new product is released to the market. However, because a new smartphone is released approximately every year, a new machine tool must be purchased if the existing machine tool cannot be used for the new product due to a model change.

To reduce the unit price of machine tools, smartphone manufacturers also request for machine tool manufacturers to reduce costs. Although many machine tool manufacturers try to review the parts they are using to curtail costs, there may be cases where alternative parts that comply with safety and standards regulations are not available, resulting in continued use of the high-cost parts.

High performance safety switches reduce total cost
For example, because more than three safety switches may be used for a single machine tool, if the product complies with ISO14119 safety standards for machine tools and leads to reduction in costs, replacement would be an advantage.

IDEC recommends the HS5L Interlock Switches with Solenoid. Many manufacturers use safety switches with four or six contacts. IDEC's HS5L Interlock Switches with Solenoid have markings for lock monitoring and provide high safety performance that satisfies safety category 3 with a minimum of two contacts. This powerful product will help you to further reduce costs.
